Diabetics are required to follow a certain diet specifically created for them to better manage their health condition. Most of the daily diabetic diets prescribed by doctors can be overwhelming. Generally, all diabetics are required to eat food in moderation. They are not supposed to eat sugary or starchy food on a regular basis. 2. Reward yourself some other way. Try to give yourself a nice reward every time you successfully withstand a Double Dutch ice cream or a chocolate chip cookie temptation. Don’t reward yourself with other foods, though. Reward yourself with a trip to the mall, a weekend vacation, or a night out with friends. This way, you would be able to make yourself happy rather than sad just because you can’t indulge in the foods that you used to enjoy.

3. Slowly change your lifestyle. If you are a person who loves to cook, prepare meals, or throw out a party, slowly change things. The main reason for that is because the daily diabetic diet you are following doesn’t fit well into that lifestyle. For one, you won’t be able to eat all the meals you prepared anyway. Plus, you might not be too happy looking at the others enjoying the food when you yourself can not.
