Question: Is There A Cure For Diabetes?

When people are diagnosed with diabetes, most of them would usually ask, "Is there a cure for diabetes?" Unfortunately, there is none. It is understandable why people would ask this question, diabetes is a deadly health condition that has a high mortality rate.

And even though diabetes has increasingly become very common, modern science has still been unable to find a cure.

What you can do if you have diabetes is to treat its symptoms and prevent the underlying causes to spread out and do more damage. Complications are usually what make diabetes very deadly.

But this doesn’t mean though that our doctors and scientists have given up. The search for a diabetes cure continues because millions of people are afflicted with this health disorder and it's highly likely that they will die from it.

Because there have been so much failure in finding cure from medications, doctors are now exploring surgery as an option to rid of the problem. Diabetes is caused by the failure of the pancreas and its islet cells to produce insulin, so a pancreas or an islet cells transplant surgery may be the answer. Finding a donor may be very difficult though. So scientists are now studying how to create an artificial pancreas to reverse the problem. Scientists are also looking into genetic manipulation to provide artificial islet cells into human fat or cells which are not capable of creating their own.

Developments are still far too early if these supposedly diabetes cures will work. But until then, we can all just continue to ask, is there a cure for diabetes?
